Hewanorra International Airport (UVF): Approximate driving time is 1 hour and 40 minutes and distance is 45 miles. Driving directions from Hewanorra International Airport: Turn left out of the airport onto the main highway and follow it towards Castries. Continue on the main road north past Courts Warehouse. Turn left just after the warehouse and follow sign to the hotel. Getting there: The easiest way is by taxi. Taxi fares are more than US$36. Rental cars are available online for more than US$36. Fees subject to change without notice. Getting around: No shopping or dining venues are in the immediate area around the hotel, but the hotel offers a shopping shuttle to Castries for US$25 return. Or, guests can taxi north to Rodney Bay to shop (US$5–15) or into the town of Castries (US$16–25.) Public buses can be used around the island for fares less than US$5. Driving is not recommended for those unaccustomed to driving on the left side of narrow, winding, mountainous roads. Ferries cross Rodney Bay to Pigeon Island for less than US$5 and travel from the island to Martinique, Dominica, and Guadeloupe for return fares of more than US$36. The resort offers 145 guestrooms in two- and three-story Mediterranean-style whitewashed buildings with red tile roofs terraced into a steep, forested hillside graced by fieldstone walls and flowering gardens. Complimentary shuttle service is available around the clock. Large terraces provide partial or full views of the Caribbean Sea below. All-white rooms feature wood ceilings and terra-cotta-tile floors decorated with blue-and-white tile insets. Ceiling fans augment rooms' air-conditioning.

What to expect: Popular with families, couples, and singles, the 55-acre resort's relaxed ambience is exemplified by check-in service while seated in a spacious open-air lobby furnished with thickly cushioned loveseats. Brick pathways, landscaping, gardens, and waterfalls meander the grounds, creating a village-like atmosphere as clientele come from all over the world. Amenity highlights: Two pool complexes furnish swimming/sunning on the hillside and near the beach. Each comprises a kids' pool and a family pool linked by waterfalls. Surrounded by stone walls and greenery, the hillside complex also includes a four-person spa tub. The Caribbean Sea beachfront features 75 yards of sand studded by palms, a 50-foot sunning pier, 150 yards of boardwalk furnished with lounge chairs above a rocky shore, and a trampoline raft offshore. Insider tip: Rodney Bay, St. Lucia's dining and nightlife center, is located 4 miles away.

The spa includes a steam room and features two twin-table couples' rooms.
