What to expect: The resort draws families seeking casual relaxation, buffet dining, and beach activities. Check-in takes place in an open-air lobby at an adjacent companion resort, Rex St. Lucian, with which Rex Papillion shares facilities. The resort lies at the beginning of a mile-long stretch of restaurants and nightclubs that serves as St. Lucia's principal nightlife center. Amenity highlights: The Rex Papillion ("butterfly," in French) features a medium-size butterfly-shape pool that includes two shallow sections for children. The surrounding sundeck features an elevated 12-person spa tub. In addition to the half-mile of light-colored sand running in front of the resort, a lawn terrace above the beach is furnished with lounge chairs for sunbathing opportunities. Insider tip: This resort's guests enjoy access to sister properties sharing Reduit Beach. The Royal St. Lucian includes a health spa. (Its pool is reserved exclusively for that resort's guests.) The adjacent Rex St. Lucian includes a beauty salon in a small shopping plaza. Rex St. Lucian buffets are available to Rex Papillion guests, also.
